Wesco employees held on bribery charges

BARGARH: Vigilance sleuths arrested two Wesco employees, including a Section Officer posted at Bhatli, for allegedly accepting Rs. 2,000 for providing electricity connection to a Lift Irrigation (LI) project. The Section Officer was identified as Jugal Kishor Dash while the other employee, a lineman, was identified as Nanda Kishor Rath. The money has been recovered from their possession. Sources said Debraj Sahu and his brother Manoranjan of Jadamuda village in Bhatli block had applied for electricity connection for their lift irrigation point. They had already paid a bribe of Rs. 30,000 following which Dash and Rath had asked for Rs. 2,000 more. The brothers then contacted the sleuths. A case has been registered.
