Work orders issued sans tenders

BANGALORE: Mahalakshmipuram MLA N L Narendra Babu has alleged that work orders have been issued in his constituency without inviting tenders.Addressing a news conference here on Thursday, he said, “BBMP has taken up a number of civil works in Mahalakshmipuram constituency. I have noticed that many of these works are not up to BBMP’s mark. Also, the BBMP has not followed any transparency in executing the works. No rules were followed while awarding works to contractors. Many work orders have been issued without inviting tenders.”Narendra Babu alleged that the work code has been swapped in many cases. There are fake work codes too. “BBMP officials are releasing funds without any verification,” he charged.
