Young Intelligence Bureau inspector kidnapped, killed in Meghalaya

The inspector was abducted on Thursday from Phanda reserve forest region when he was travelling from Rongra to Baghmara in a Tata Sumo. Official sources said the officer, who is a new recruit in the rank of an Inspector, was kidnapped along with another person in South Garo hills.

His body was found on Friday, the official said. The fate of the other person was not known.

Sources said a new group called ASAC, a breakaway faction of ANVC, a known terrorist group in Meghalaya, was suspected to be behind the kidnapping and killing of the IB officer.
