The Lok Sabha on Tuesday took up the issue of compensation for farmers who have incurred heavy losses due to unseasonal rain.

The Minister also said that security arrangements at airports in the country are elaborate, adequate and effective.

In his reply to a question, Union Culture Minister Mahesh Sharma said that the process of reviewing the Act has commenced.

"Most states have now recognised the need for making provision of pension for single mothers in their plans. But, the pensions are low just around Rs 1,000 a month," Sailo said.
