Friendships often mimic familial relationships, with each member playing a distinct role within the group dynamic. The Wooga Squad, comprising South Korean celebrities BTS’ V, actors Park Seo-joon and Choi Woo-shik, musician Peakboy, and singer-actor Park Hyung-sik, is no exception. In a recent interview on The Do Show, hosted by Hong Kong actress-host Carol Cheng, Park Hyung-sik talked about the inner dynamics of this superstar friend group. Reflecting on their bond, the 32-year-old shared candid insights, comparing their interactions to those of a family. When asked about his role within the group, Hyung-sik offered a glimpse into the familial roles they’ve established.
Drawing parallels to family dynamics, he characterised Park Seo-joon as the paternal figure, with Peakboy assuming the role of the eldest son. “In terms of family relationships, Seo-Joon is like a father and then Peakboy is the eldest son. Woo-shik is like the playful second son who doesn’t listen and is very mischievous, and V is the immature maknae (youngest sibling in the family)," shared the 32-year-old.
As for himself, Hyung-Sik admitted to assuming a nurturing, almost maternal role within the squad. Reflecting on his inadvertent caretaking responsibilities, he acknowledged the natural evolution of his role within the group. “I feel like I take on a bit of a motherly role. It’s not because I wanted to do this, but at some point, I found myself taking care of them and helping them a lot," he added.
