Rakul Preet Singh is one of the fittest celebrities in Bollywood. She often takes to her social media to share snippets not only from her intense workout sessions but also from her healthy and well-balanced meals. The actor is vegan and is often seen talking about the benefits of switching to a plant-based diet. In a recent interview, the actor shared her favourite vegetarian sources of proteins.

Speaking with Ranveer Allahabadia, Rakul revealed that edamame, methi, broccoli, and asparagus are her favourite vegan sources of protein. The actress also advised on incorporating quinoa in the diet as it is high in proteins. She also mentioned adding shakes to your diet. She continued, “If your gut is healthy, then protein shakes are very helpful. However, it is very important to know the make of your protein shake because there are also a lot of shakes that are not good quality. So, try to go in for a grass-fed or an organic form or a vegan protein shake.”

Proteins are crucial in repairing the cells and for generating new ones. The most rich source of proteins is found in eggs, fish, and meat. This is where vegetarians find it difficult to incorporate proteins into their diet. However, there are ample protein sources for vegans which are as nutritious as animal-based proteins.

Lentils are a good source of proteins, fiber, folate, manganese, and iron. The fiber in lentils promotes good bacteria which is essential for a healthy gut. Legumes like kidney beans, chickpeas, and black beans, also contain high amounts of protein in a single serving. If you are a vegan, you can swap paneer with tofu. It is gluten-free and low on calories but rich in protein.

Additionally, green vegetables, nuts, seeds, and oats are also rich in proteins.
