Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor seemingly confirmed their breakup rumours on Friday night when they attended an event in New Delhi but did not sit together or talk to each other. However, amid all this, a new video from the event has surfaced on social media in which Arjun can be seen protecting Malaika in the crowd.
The video features Arjun being surrounded by people at the event when one of the fans asks him for a selfie. At the same time, Malaika also crosses him when the Singham Again actor makes way for her and keeps his arm behind her to make sure she does not get hurt by anyone. Even though Malaika did not even acknowledge Arjun, the latter’s gesture has left netizens impressed.
Last month, Malaika left her fans concerned after she skipped Arjun’s midnight birthday celebration at his Juhu residence. She didn’t wish him on social media either, which led to speculation about their possible breakup.
Amid the ongoing rumours surrounding her “on-off relationship” with Arjun, Malaika recently spoke about how the internet can be a very toxic space. “I have somehow built a mechanism — or shield, I would say — around me where I don’t let the negativity through anymore,” Malaika told Hello magazine. “I’ve insulated myself from it. Whether it’s people, a work environment, social media or trolls. The minute I feel that energy, I recoil instantly. It’s something I’ve learned to do over time. It would get to me earlier and I would lose sleep over it. I’d be lying if I said things don’t affect me at all — I’m human too and so I will cry, break down and have all the emotions associated with being trolled. But you’ll never see that in public.”
When asked about love, Malaika said she’s a hardcore romantic. “I’ll never give up on the idea of true love, no matter what. I’m a typical Scorpio that way, so I’ll fight for love till the very end — but I’m also very realistic and know where to draw the line,” she added.
