Emraan Hashmi Reacts To Rajkummar Rao's Rumoured Plastic Surgery: 'To Look Like That Poster Boy...'
Emraan Hashmi said that actors get love after getting procedures done and it makes them feel good about themselves.

Emraan Hashmi has reacted to Rajkummar Rao’s rumoured plastic surgery, months after the latter actor dismissed all speculation. In a recent chat, Emraan Hashmi was asked why actors opt for plastic surgery and where that “insecurity” stems from. Emraan then asked the anchors to name actors who went under the knife. When Rajkummar Rao’s name was taken, Emraan started laughing and covered his face after saying “yeah”.

In conversation with ScoopWhoop, Emraan said, “It is a reality. I mean, the cosmetic business. Not just in the industry but it’s a thing that they marketed pretty well. Everyone wants to look like that poster boy or girl and there’s become this identity of what beauty is, right? And you want to mould yourself to that because that’s what gets the love and you feel good about yourself. Coming to cosmetic surgery, I haven’t gotten any, if you’re thinking.”

For the unversed, earlier this year, a photo of Rajkummar Rao went viral on social media in which his chin appeared longer. The photo had left netizens wondering if Rajkummar had undergone plastic surgery. However, the Stree actor clarified that this was not the case. He called the viral photo “fake” and stated that it did not bother him.

Rajkummar Rao then told India Today, “If you have seen that picture, it doesn’t even look like me. It was really funny because it’s not even me. I guess someone played a prank. I strongly believe that it was a touched-up image.”

The 39-year-old actor further talked about how social media users started digging up his old photos as soon as plastic surgery reports made headlines. “People were using big words like plastic surgery, but I have never gone under the knife,” he added.

However, Rao also admitted to getting fillers around nine years ago. “When I started out, people would comment on my looks. So yes, around eight to nine years back, I did get fillers. I did it to feel better and look better, so that my face looks balanced. It was prescribed by my dermatologist. And I really think if anyone wants to do that to gain confidence, then why not? There is no harm in it,” he said.
