Gulshan Grover was born on September 21, 1955 in Delhi. He had his early education in Delhi itself. He was fond of acting since childhood. To fulfill his dreams he went to Mumbai. The book reveals that in his early days, Grover would go door-to-door selling items like utensils and washing powder to pay for his school fees. He carried his uniform in his school bag, balancing his education and work. His family faced numerous hardships, but through sheer determination and hard work, Gulshan Grover overcame them. Today, he is recognized as a prominent figure in Indian cinema, having achieved both financial success and fame. Gulshan made his Bollywood debut in 1980 with the film Hum Paanch. He has worked in more than 400 films in his career so far.

Gulshan Grover has been a part of numerous hit films throughout his career, including Doodh Ka Karz, Izzat, Saudagar, Kurbaan, Ram Lakhan, Insaaf Kaun Karega, Avatar, Criminal, Mohra, Hera Pheri, International Khiladi, Lajja, Dil Maange More, Jumbo, Karz, Ganga Devi, and Agent Vinod. His versatility and impactful performances have made him a prominent figure in Indian cinema. Notably, Grover received the National Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the film I Am Kalam, which further cemented his legacy as a talented actor.

He was married twice. His first marriage to Filomina lasted from 1998 to 2001 while his second marriage to Kashish lasted barely a year from 2001 to 2002. The actor has a son with Filomina named Sanjay Grover.
