The trailer of Madhur Bhandarkar's much-anticipated film, Indu Sarkar is out. Ever since the film was announced, the fans have been curious to know what will the film have in store for them. In 1975, PM Indira Gandhi declared a state of emergency across the country and changed the face of the nation overnight. The chapter might now be lost in the pages of our history, but the fact that it impacted a lot of lives can not be denied. Many people rose and fought against the government then but not all tales are known to common people. Indu Sarkar brings to life one such lesser known but a compelling tale to celluloid.
The trailer begins with the announcement of emergency and the repercussions and aftermaths of it follow in the two-and-a-half minute video. One even hears Ameen Sayani's announcement from the popular show Binaca Geetmala in the trailer.
The film features Kirti Kulhari in the titular role, a poetess with a speech impediment, who decides to go against the government and fight a battle of her own. Neil Nitin Mukesh plays Sanjay Gandhi and the uncanny resemblance is hard to ignore.
Both Kirti and Neil deliver a power-packed performance and deliver dialogues with conviction.
The plot further strengthens the trailer and keeps you invested.
