London: Actress Jennifer Lawrence has slammed Hollywood for concentrating more on appearance of actors rather than their talent.
The 25-year-old 'Hunger Games' star says people should not be focused on the weight or size of an actor or actress but their skills as a performer, reported Female First.
"I hate all the focus on weight and size that you have in our business. I don't think an actress needs to be skinny to be attractive and it sends the wrong message to young women.
"It's important that, as actresses, we need to establish ourselves first and foremost for our talent and not for our physical appearance," she said.
Lawrence also opened up about her criticisms of the gender pay gap in the movie industry saying she finds herself lucky to do what she likes, but wants it to be a fair play.
"I'm aware that movie stars earn too much money in relation to the rest of the world. But it's the principle that is important.
"I can't stand a lack of fairness. This has nothing to do with ingratitude - I love my job and I know how lucky I am to be able to live off my art."
