John Abraham Poses With Manu Bhaker's Medal In Hand, Upsets Netizens: 'You Have No Rights To Touch It'
In the photo John Abraham shared, Manu Bhaker and John can be seen smiling for the camera, with John holding one of Manu's medals while she holds the other.

Pistol shooter Manu Bhakar has returned to India after making history at the Paris Olympics, where she won two medals in a single edition of the Games. On her arrival, actor John Abraham had the opportunity to meet her and shared a photo on Instagram capturing the moment. In the photo, both can be seen flashing big smiled for the camera, with John holding one of Manu’s medals while she holds the other.

However, the pose did not sit well with many fans on social media. Netizens argued that John Abraham should not have touched or held Manu’s medals, which she won through her own hard work. Some pointed out that Manu could have easily held both medals herself, and the actor could have simply shared the moment without handling her awards. The photo has sparked a debate online about respect in celebrating achievements.

“Sorry but u have no rights to touch the medal won by someone else,” read one of the top comments. Another read, “Learn to respect the Olympic Medal. You don’t have any rights to touch that precious thing.” A read comment read, “Leave the medal alone.”

Manu Bhaker arrived in India on Wednesday morning. She received a rousing reception at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi as fans gathered in huge numbers to cheer for the twin Olympic medallist on her homecoming.

Bhaker ended the 12-year drought the shooting contingent had to endure before her twin triumphs in Paris. She opened India’s medal tally at the Paris Games, claiming the bronze medal in the 10m Air Pistol event and doubled it when she picked up yet another bronze, alongside Sarabjot Singh, in the 10m Mixed Team Air Pistol event. She nearly tripled her tally in her favoured 25m Air Pistol event but had to settle for a fourth-place finish, thereby concluding her Olympic campaign with a record two medals.
