Writer and director Nag Ashwin’s Kalki 2898 AD, starring an ensemble star cast of actors Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan and others has set the cash registers ringing at the box office. Besides the brilliant acting, storyline and other aspects, one element that dominated the headlines is the AI-powered car called Bujji. A futuristic vehicle, this car has been reportedly built on a massive sum of Rs 7 crore and weighs 6 tonnes. The makers have taken help from the homegrown manufacturers Mahindra and Jayem Automotive to build this futuristic vehicle. When it comes to the overall size, the AI-powered vehicle flaunts an impressive length of 6075 mm, a height of 2186 mm and a width of 3380 mm.

Is Bujji a real vehicle?

Both Mahindra and Jayem Automotive left no stone unturned to build the Bujji as real as they could. According to the reports, this car features custom-built 34.4-inch hubless rims at the front, while the rear section has been treated with an impressive single wheel. This makes it easy for the Bujji to move freely in any direction.

The makers of Bujji also have used a special canopy at the driver’s side, which makes it appear like some futuristic aircraft. According to the reports, the car is powered by a robust 47kw battery setup. This setup churns out a maximum power of 126 bhp and 9800 Nm of peak torque.

Current box collection of Kalki 2898 AD

Kalki 2898 AD has currently collected more than Rs 600 crore gross globally. Trade Analyst Ramesh Bala has confirmed it. With this, the film has joined the likes of Jailer, Salaar, KGF Chapter 2, RRR, 2.0, Baahubali 2, and Baahubali. At the US box office, the film has crossed $12.8 million or Rs 108 crore as of 9 pm on Tuesday, according to the Telugu film industry tracker Aakashavaani.

In its first three days, Kalki 2928 AD became the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024, surpassing Hanu-Man’s collection. Hanu-Man collected Rs 350 crore globally. Prabhas’ latest film also scored the third-highest opening for an Indian film ever, with Rs 191.5 crore worldwide.
