Kamal Haasan's Thug Life Enters The Next Phase, Watch BTS Video
For Thug Life, Kamal Haasan reunited with Mani Ratnam after three decades of their last film.

Kamal Haasan has wrapped the shooting for his upcoming film, Thug Life. The makers confirmed the news on Tuesday. Reuniting with director Mani Ratnam after 35 years, Haasan began the shooting in January this year across various locations. The project has been in the pipeline for quite some time now, keeping fans anticipating the actor-director reunion. In a BTS video from the film’s entire shooting schedule, the makers of Thug Life gave a glimpse of several key moments, including panoramic views and distant locations.

The video also includes a mini celebration, marking the film’s shooting wrap. Kamal Haasan, along with Silambarasan TR, and director Mani Ratnam came together for a picture. In one of the frames, the Indian 2 actor could also be seen felicitating his director as the schedule comes to an end. “Shooting Completed #Thuglife enters the next phase #Ulaganayagan #KamalHaasan #SilambarasanTR," the caption read.

The video comes days after the film actually wrapped the shooting leg. A picture of Haasan, Mani Ratnam and Silambarasan TR also surfaced from the wrap-up party, showing them joyous after months of hard work.

Earlier, Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan worked together in the 1987 film Nayakan, only to join forces again for Thug Life. The upcoming period gangster drama film is said to have Haasan in multiple roles. The film’s cast also features actors like Silambarasan, Trisha, Joju George, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Gautham Karthik, Abhirami Gopikumar, and others. While Ravi K Chandran is handling the cinematography, AR Rahman is helming the musical part.

Details about the film’s release date are yet to be unveiled.

Thug Life To Release On OTT?

According to a report by the Deccan Herald, Thug Life has already struck a record deal with streaming giant Netflix for its OTT rights. The film has been bought for around Rs 149 crore, emerging as a major deal among other South flicks. The deal has been carried out by a prominent film distributor in Tamil, the report adds.

Co-produced by Kamal Haasan under the banner of Raaj Kamal Films International, the actor has also co-written its screenplay.
