Kanye West To Katy Perry: Taylor Swift's Feuds With Fellow Artists
No matter how pristine, Taylor has had her series of controversies and feuds.

Taylor Swift is the celebrity of the week courtesy Kim Kardashian. The reality TV star and wife of rapper Kanye West released Swift's video of approving the much talked about and controversial Famous lyrics. Now for the uninitiated, the entire Famous controversy began after West played the album for the first time at a listening party in Madison Square Garden in February. A spokesperson for Swift condemned the lyrics and stated that Taylor was very hurt as she never expected such a thing from 'good friend' Kanye.

Now, Swift is not new to controversy. Although the star has maintained an angelic persona with minimum risks and 'too perfect to be true' pristine image, she has had her share of feuds with fellow artistes. Let's take a look at Taylor's popular feuds which either resulted in a music video or a life-long scarred relationship. Taylor Swift-Joe Jonas

The year was 2008, when Swift was an emerging country singer with her first superhit album Fifteen and Joe Jonas was an established Disney name out with second album with his band Jonas Brothers. The sparks flew instantly and the two young artists dated for a little while. The drama that followed after was the one that went down the history of American music industry. After the breakup, Taylor appeared on a chat show to promote her new album and discussed her breakup. On national television, Taylor was reported saying, "When I find that person that is right for me, he’ll be wonderful, and when I look at that person, I’m not even gonna be able to remember the boy who broke up with me over the phone in 25 seconds when I was 18. I looked at the call log, it was 27 seconds. That’s got to be a record."

In the same interview, Taylor revealed that one song on her album Fearless- 'Forever and Always' – was about Joe. Nine months later, the Jonas Brothers released their fourth album, Lines, Vines, and Trying Times, which included the song Much Better. The first verse of that song contained the lyrics “Now I’m done with superstars / And all the tears on her guitar" (in reference to Taylor’s single Teardrops on my Guitar).

She later referred to the same phone call during her Saturday Night Live monologue, which included the lyrics, “You might think I’d mention Joe, that guy who broke up with me on the phone / but I’m not gonna talk about him in my monologue / Hey Joe, I’m doing real well, tonight I’m hosting SNL."Taylor Swift-Katy Perry

The feud that inspired Taylor's last year's biggest song Bad Blood was pretty nasty. In an interview given by Swift right before her '1989' tour, she accused a fellow singer artist saying, "She did something so horrible … It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me". Soon after another interview of Taylor's ex-dancers was discovered, who – along with two other dancers – had quit Taylor’s Red Tour in favour of Katy’s Prismatic Tour.

Therefore the 'sabotage' became clear and the unending feud between once great friends-turned- enemies came into being.

After the much revealing interview by Taylor, Katy tweeted a rather sly remark on the entire issue.

Taylor Swift-Demi Lovato

Taylor had a bad- run in with another Disney star Demi Lovato and the reason for this was Taylor's BFF Selena Gomez. It's a well known fact that Selena and Demi were childhood Disney stars-cum- BFFs and shared an amazing personal rapport. However, Selena's growing closeness with Taylor didn't go down well with Demi.

In the video taken by a fan, Demi was asked about Selena to which she replied, “Ask Taylor!"

A few months later, it was reported that Demi was dating Taylor’s ex, Joe Jonas, who Taylor was still engaged in a feud with.

However, the day after Demi sent her tweet, it was revealed that Taylor had given $250,000 to Kesha to help with her legal fees. Taylor Swift- Nicki Minaj

However this feud didn't last long as Nicki and Taylor apologised to each other and even performed together on the very same VMA stage. Taylor Swift-Calvin Harris

Recently, Taylor was slammed by her former boyfriend Calvin Harris for revealing their secret collaboration on 'This Is What You Came For'. Speculations were strong that Swift wrote Harris's recent chart buster and Swift's representative confirmed the news.

Harris even went to the point where he blatantly asked Taylor to mind her own business and be happy be the new man in her life. Also, the DJ confirmed the 'Bad Blood' between Katy and Swift in his tweets. Taylor Swift-Kanye West

Touted as one of the biggest take down in American music industry, Taylor Swift's recent feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian is fresh and big. The timeline of their hot and cold relationship started in 2009 VMA's when Kanye interrupted Taylor's acceptance speech for winning Best Video for You Belong With Me. As it happened, while Taylor was thanking her fans, Kanye went on stage and grabbed Swift's mike announcing to the world that Beyoncé "had one of the best music videos of all time".

At the 2010 VMAs, Taylor gave a performance of a song from her album Speak Now that had reference to the Kanye's incident. The performance was introduced with throwback clip of Taylor accepting the award the previous year.

However everything was eventually sorted between the two, courtesy Beyonce and Jay Z. Swift and Kanye were also seen hanging together in Grammys. She also presented West with the Vanguard Award at the 2015 VMAs.

Cut to 2016, Kanye released his now 'infamous' song Famous referring to Taylor as 'a bitch whom he made famous'. The lyrics didn't go down well with Taylor. A statement was later released by Swift's representative saying, “Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his Famous on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, "I made that bitch famous."

Few months earlier Kim Kardashian-West was reported saying that she has the footage of Swift approving the lyrics in her possession and this week she posted the recorded cellphone conversation.

Within hours of the footage release, Taylor retaliated with a long statement saying that she wanted to like the song and wanted to be supportive but couldn't approve a song she had never heard. She described the release of the Snapchat video as a "character assassination' and well boy, it was nothing less.

Within an hour, Twitter was flooded with hashtag #TaylorSwiftPartyOver and the entire music industry got divided into two groups.

More than anything else, this feud with Kanye has cost Taylor a lot of questioning glares and a big spot on her mostly clear image.

No matter how much Taylor tries to shake off all the negativity around her, controversies find her one way or the other. Now we can expect another album on this entire fiasco, right Taylor?

What's your reaction?
