Kareena Kapoor Khan On Her Film's Global Success: 'I'm Happy Crew Has Broken Barriers'
Kareena Kapoor Khan said she was proud to see Crew’s box office numbers.

The heist film Crew, featuring Kareena Kapoor, Tabu and Kriti Sanon, has emerged as a box office powerhouse, garnering widespread acclaim from critics and audiences alike. Released in March this year, Crew had a fantastic run in theatres and earned about Rs 148 crore globally. In a recent interview, Kareena Kapoor spoke about the success of Crew and emphasised its significance in proving that female-led films can thrive commercially.

Speaking to PTI, Kareena Kapoor said she was glad to see Crew’s box office numbers. “It’s not about whether it’s a hero or a heroine taking on a film. It’s a person and (their) performance that takes the film and content (forward). We are going to keep trying to do that. I will always choose roles that are interesting but in the form of entertainment. I’m happy Crew has broken barriers. It started the conversation that women also can break box office rules,” she mentioned.

Kareena Kapoor, Tabu and Kriti Sanon appeared together on screen for the first time. They play the roles of distinguished flight attendants such as in-flight supervisor Geeta Sethi (Tabu), senior flight attendant Jasmine Rana (Kareena Kapoor) and junior flight attendant Divya Bajwa (Kriti Sanon). The film is set in a financially struggling airline sector and follows the lives of the three flight attendants. However, their destiny places them in terrible situations and they get entangled in a web of lies and deception. Apart from the trio, the film also stars Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma in key roles. It is directed by Rajesh Krishnan and produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, Anil Kapoor Films and Communication Network.

Kareena Kapoor is now gearing up for the premiere of her much-awaited film Singham Again, featuring an ensemble cast including Ajay Devgn, Arjun Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Tiger Shroff in prominent roles. Discussing the film with Variety, she said, “There’s Deepika (Padukone) and me in the film, where we have very strong parts. But obviously it’ll be really different, it is the big ticket Bollywood bonanza for this year, and I’m sure people will enjoy that.”

Meanwhile, Kareena made her debut in the OTT space with the film Jaane Jaan last year. Directed by Sujoy Ghosh, this thriller drama features Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat in significant roles alongside Kareena. Additionally, Kareena is set to appear in Hansal Mehta’s Netflix thriller The Buckingham Murders.
