Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap is reportedly shooting for his upcoming film, Nishanchi. The film will portray a 13-year-old Sonu Kumar from Patna, who will be playing a crucial role in the film. As per reports, the young actor belongs to a humble background and was able to chart out his way in acting with his impressive acting chops. Now, reportedly, Anurag Kashyap is a huge fan of Sonu Kumar. He will be portraying the role of Bala Saheb Thackeray’s grandson, Aaishvary Thackeray. The young actor returned to Patna after shooting in Lucknow. As per reports, Sonu Kumar’s father, Awadhesh Kumar works as a carpenter and supports his family and his brother Karan Kumar is the chief announcer in Akashvani. He also has an egg shop which he sets up in the evening for extra income.
As per reports, Sonu Kumar got the golden opportunity to work with Anurag Kashyap through social media. He came to know about the audition process through the online platforms in the month of April. After fulfilling all the eligibility criteria, he was given a script of a scene from the film. He shot a video and sent it. The makers of Nishanchi were impressed by his performance and then Sonu was selected for the film out of many child actors.
It was Sonu Kumar’s dream to become a scientist. At the same time, whenever he watched films or TV, he was filled with the desire to appear on TV. The young actor idolises Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Apart from the shoot of Nishanchi, Sonu Kumar has been associated with the Kilkari theatre group for the last four years. He developed a knack for acting after he watched his elder brother, Karan Kumar getting his acting training in Kilkari group. As per reports, during the Covid-19 times, Karan used to record his clips and send them to the theatre group. This inspired Sonu Kumar and he too quickly made his way into the theatre group.
