'No Diet Helps If Husband Keeps You Happy': Sonal Monteiro On Weight Gain After Marriage

Sonal Monteiro and Kaatera director Tharun Sudhir tied the knot on August 11. The wedding garnered headlines in the entertainment industry a few months back. After the marriage, the actress Sonal Montero has been busy celebrating the festivals. The actress has been spotted in the city numerous times. She appeared in front of the media to answer a few of their questions. One of the reporters asked a funny question to Sonal Montero. They asked if she had put on weight after the marriage.

In a brief interaction with reporters, Sonal Monteiro faced one of the most general questions which a person after marriage can. She was asked if she had put on weight. It also hinted at her probable pregnancy plans. The actress was asked about the number of kilograms that increased after marriage. Sonal answered with a smile without being shy. “The diet did nothing. If your husband makes you happy, you are fat,” she said.

Sonal and Tharun’s marriage was done according to Hindu and Christian tradition. The couple first married in the Hindu tradition and then got married in the Christian tradition. Kannada director Tharun Sudhir and actress Sonal have been in love for the past few years. Later, both the families agreed to the marriage.

The couple got married at Poornima Palace in Bengaluru. Dharana of Mangalya took place in Tula lagna muhurta itself. Sonal and Tarun’s wedding was attended by most of the film industry. Sudhir personally invited famous personalities of the film industry like KGF star Yash, director Prashant Neel, late actor Puneeth Rajkumar’s wife Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar, South superstar Kichcha Sudeep, actor Shivraj Kumar, Actress Aradhana, Roaring Star Sree Murali, musician Naada Brahma Hamsalekha and Kannada actor Vishnuvardhan’s son-in-law Aniruddha Jatakar along with his wife Keerthi.

Not just the Sandalwood stalwarts, Tharun Sudhir also invited Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah, former Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa, R Ashok and DK Shivakumar, among other political dignitaries to the wedding functions.

Renowned Kannada singer Vijay Prakash also attended this wedding. He came to the wedding from Mumbai and greeted the new couple. The wedding of the two was celebrated with much fanfare in the presence of family members, industry friends and well-wishers. The pair have known each other since the time of the film Roberrt.
