Pawan Kalyan eyes a win in Pithapuram as part of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly Elections 2024. The Telugu star, who is also the chief of his party — Jana Sena Party, contested from Pithapuram and has a lead in the AP constituency. With his party members already declaring him the winner, his wife Anna Lezhneva got emotional. In videos coming from the couple’s home, Anna was seen performing a puja for him while his son, Akira joined them.
In the video shared on X, Pawan made his first appearance amid his impending win and patiently stood as his wife performed his puja. She applied a tilak on his forehead and performed the puja while he teased her. Pawan’s son Akira Nandan, who he shares with his ex-wife Renu Desai, was also present in the celebrations. Pawan’s party workers were heard chanting his name.

Earlier in the day, Anna and Akira greeted party workers as Pawan inched closer to the win. The supporters gathered outside the couple’s house. Anna was seen fighting back tears as they celebrated Pawan’s lead in the elections.

At the time of reporting, the Election Commission of India revealed Pawan has received 1,32,725 votes in Pithapuram.
Pawan Kalyan has this time aligned with the BJP and Chandrababu Naidu’s TDP for the Lok Sabha and Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections. As part of a seat-sharing deal among NDA partners, TDP was allocated 144 Assembly and 17 Lok Sabha constituencies while BJP contested six Lok Sabha and 10 Assembly seats. Under the deal, Jana Sena contested two Lok Sabha and 21 Assembly seats.
Who is Pawan Kalyan?
Pawan Kalyan, 55, is a renowned Telugu actor and politician in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The actor, who is the brother of Telugu stars Chiranjeevi and Nagendra Babu, is known for his martial arts and starred in several films, including Gokulamlo Seeta (1997), Suswagatham (1998), Thammudu (1999), Kushi (2001), Balu (2005), Jalsa (2008), Gabbar Singh (2012), Attarintiki Daredi (2013), Gopala Gopala (2015), and Vakeel Saab (2021), to name a few.
He ventured into politics in 2008, spearheading the youth wing of Praja Rajyam Party, called Yuvarajyam. However, due to his ill health, he took a break from his political work. He rose again in 2014 and this time, he started a new political party called the Jana Sena Party (JSP).
