Director Ajay Bhupathi, renowned for his work on films like RX 100 and Mangalavaaram, recently took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his outrage over Arshad Warsi’s comments on Prabhas. The Rebel Star actor was criticised by Warsi in a recent podcast, which didn’t sit well with many of Prabhas’ fans and colleagues, including Bhupathi.
In a fiery post, Ajay Bhupathi praised Prabhas for his contributions to Indian cinema, saying, “Prabhas is the man who has given everything and will do anything to take Indian Cinema to the world audience, a Pride of our nation.” He didn’t stop there, accusing Warsi of being jealous of Prabhas and the success of his latest venture, Kalki 2898 AD. The director insinuated that Warsi’s fading career might be fuelling his harsh criticism, remarking that the actor no longer receives the same attention.
Bhupathi further criticised Warsi for his choice of words, stating, “There’s a limit & a way to express our opinion… Seems like you’re the one that you’ve said about him.” His strong response comes after Warsi’s controversial remarks during an appearance on the podcast Unfiltered with Samdish. When asked about movies he didn’t enjoy, Warsi didn’t hold back, singling out Prabhas’ performance in Kalki 2898 AD. He questioned why Prabhas’ portrayal seemed out of place, saying, “Prabhas, I am really sad, why was he like a joker? Why? I want to see Mad Max. I want to see Mel Gibson over there. What have you made it, I can never understand why they would do such things.”
#Prabhas is the man who has given everything & will do anything to take Indian Cinema to the world audience, a Pride of our nation. We can see the jealousy on that film, on him in your eyes just because you've faded out & no one gives an eye to you.
There's a limit & a way to…

Kalki 2898 AD, directed by Nag Ashwin, is a sci-fi dystopian film set in a future world, inspired by Hindu epics like the Mahabharata. The film stars an ensemble cast including Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan. Despite Warsi’s criticism, the movie has been praised for its ambitious storytelling and star-studded lineup, which also features cameo appearances by Vijay Deverakonda and Dulquer Salmaan.
