Rajkummar Rao is one of the most versatile actors in the industry. He has made a special place in the hearts of fans through his acting skills. Well, recently he opened up about one of the most challenging moments in his life. He mentioned that he resumed the shoot of Newton shortly after performing his mother’s last rites. Rajkummar also revealed that he thought he would stay strong but couldn’t manage.

In a conversation with Samdish Bhatia on the podcast Mauj Masti, Rajkummar Rao shared that Patralekhaa was the one who called to deliver the heartbreaking news, and in that instant, his world felt like it was collapsing around him. He also mentioned that he said the director that he will come back in one. “I went back to the set and I thought that I would manage; I am strong, but I could not. Phatt jati hai yaar. Mein ro raha hota tha continuous, fir mera jo ek best friend hai, Anish, the sound designer, he was also on the set luckily, usne mujhe bohot sambal liya,” he was quoted saying.

The movie won the National Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi and was also India’s nominee for the Best Foreign Language Film category at the 90th Academy Awards, popularly known as Oscars. Featuring Rajkummar Rao and Pankaj Tripathi in key roles, the Hindi language film chronicles the foibles of democracy in the jungles of Chhattisgarh.

The actor is currently seen in Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video with Triptii Dimri. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, the film witnessed a significant drop at the box office collections on its fourth day. According to Pinkvilla, the film saw a 55 percent dip, earning around Rs 2.50 crore net on Day 4. This brings its total to Rs 21.30 crore. The film opened with Rs 5.5 crore on Day 1 (Friday), followed by Rs 6.9 crore on Saturday, and Rs 6.4 crore on Sunday, according to Sacnilk.com.

Set in 1997, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video revolves around a married couple, Vicky (Rajkummar Rao) and Vidya (Triptii Dimri), who make a private video of their first night together, only to discover the tape has been stolen. As Vicky secretly tries to recover it, Vidya suspects him of infidelity, leading to comedic misunderstandings. The film has garnered mixed reviews. News18 Showsha rated the film 2/5, citing the weak screenplay and lackluster writing as major issues.
