Ram Gopal Varma weighed in Konda Surekha’s controversial claim about Naga Chaitanya, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and KTR. The filmmaker took to X and slammed the Telangana political leader for making such vile comments. He also reacted to her apology to Samantha, suggesting that these claims have insulted Naga Chaitanya and Nagarjuna, and they should take strong action against her.

“I was shocked by Konda Surekha’s comments which insulted Nagarjuna’s family in the most horrible way. Dragging the most respected Nagarjuna family on the road in the middle of taking revenge on her political rival should not be tolerated,” he shared, as he wondered if she understands that she has not only insulted KTR but also the Akkineni family.”

He criticised Surekha for making such shocking claims in front of the media without any confirmation or having witnessed it first hand. “Such vile speech against a dignified family like Nagarjuna, Naga Chaitanya and a great actress who is the pride of the industry like Samantha in the position of a minister should be strongly condemned. On behalf of the industry, we are requesting CM Revanth Reddy to immediately intervene in this matter and give a strong warning to prevent such incidents from happening,” he added.

The filmmaker then reposted a video of Surekha speaking and said that Nagarajuna and Naga Chaitanya should take stern action against her. Meanwhile, CNN News18 learnt that Nagarjuna Akkineni family is in the process of issuing a notice to her. A separate notice will also be issued to Minister Konda Surekha on the behalf Telugu Film Chamber.

What Did Konda Surekha Claim?

According to Surekha, when Samantha refused, it led to her separation from Naga Chaitanya. “KTR asked to send Samantha in return for not demolishing the N-convention centre. Nagarjuna forced Samantha to go to KTR, but she said no. That led to divorce,” Surekha was quoted as saying by Deccan Herald.

The N-Convention Centre, owned by Nagarjuna, was partially demolished in August by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRAA) for encroaching on lake buffer zones. Although Nagarjuna obtained a stay order from the High Court later that day, Surekha’s remarks have drawn attention for all the wrong reasons.
