Nitesh Tiwari’s magnum opus, Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Yash is one of the most anticipated films of the actor’s career. Fans are eagerly awaiting any updates on the film as the shoot is ongoing in full swing in Mumbai’s Film City with sets constructed in Josh Maidan and Helipad. A source told Pinkvilla recently, “Yash has undergone several look tests for his character in Ramayana and is all set to start shooting in December 2024. He moves on to the epic after completing a major chunk of his next, the Geethu Mohandas-directed Toxic. He is excited to explore one of the most complex characters from Ramayana.” Yash will play Ravana in the film.

Yash will also be co-producing the ambitious project. While speaking with Variety, Yash had revealed, “It has been my long-term aspiration to make films that will showcase Indian cinema on a global level. In pursuit of that, I was in L.A. to ally with one of the best VFX studios, and to my amazement, the driving force behind it was a fellow Indian. Namit and I had various ideation sessions, and coincidentally, our synergy on the vision for Indian cinema aligned perfectly. We brainstormed various projects, and during these discussions, the subject of ‘Ramayana’ came up. Namit had a part of it in the works.”
