For a long time now, reports of Salman Khan and Sooraj Barjatya planning to reunite for a movie have been making headlines. While it was being said that the film will be titled ‘Prem Ki Shaadi’, it has now been reported that this isn’t the case. As reported by Bollywood Hungama, Salman and Sooraj have finally locked the script of their upcoming movie but have not finalised on its name.
“Sooraj ji is not making anything titled Prem Ki Shaadi. It is a totally different script. He is coming together again with Salman,” a friend of Barjatya claimed.
Another source close to the development added, “For nine years, Soorajji and Salman Bhai have been looking for a script that would bring them together again after Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. They’ve finally cracked an idea that they both like. Nahin toh pehle yeh tha ke ek ko pasand toh doosre ko nahin.”
The insider further claimed that Salman and Sooraj’s upcoming collaboration “will be unlike anything they have done, individually or together”. The shoot of the film is likely to begin early next year.
Reports of Salman Khan and Sooraj Barjatya planning a film together first made headlines in March 2023 when a source cited by Pinkvilla claimed, “With the film, Sooraj plans to celebrate love in the backdrop of nuclear families and is among the most special subjects that he has developed till date.”
“Sooraj Barjatya will get into the process of locking the female lead and key ensemble cast of Prem Ki Shaadi in a couple of months. While his films have always had romantic tracks leading to “shaadi”, this time around, the entire conflict revolves around the life of a married couple with strong family elements,” the insider added.
Salman Khan and Sooraj Barjatya’s collaboration is considered to be iconic. They have worked together for blockbuster movies like Hum Aapke Hain Koun. They last collaborated on the 2015 movie, Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo, which also starred Sonam Kapoor in the lead.
