Mumbai: Superstar Salman Khan's on-screen journey from India to Pakistan in 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' has hit the jackpot at the box office with its victorious run since its release on July 17. The film raked in Rs 20.05 crore on Saturday, zooming past the Rs 200 crore mark.
“The Kabir Khan directorial, which collected Rs 197.77 crore till Friday, minted Rs 20.05 crore (India), taking the cumulative total to
Rs 217.82 crore,” the film's spokesperson said in a statement.
The movie narrates a heart-warming tale of an Indian man (played by Salman) and a mute girl from Pakistan (essayed by child artist
Harshaali Malhotra) and the bond they develop during their road trip to Pakistan. It chronicles the adventures they stumble upon during
their odyssey.
Trade guru Taran Adarsh lauded the success of the film, which also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Kareena Kapoor Khan, on micro-blogging
site Twitter.
