In the wake of the murder of Baba Siddiqui, former Maharashtra minister and senior NCP leader, Salman Khan's security cover has been increased.

In the wake of the murder of Baba Siddiqui, former Maharashtra minister and senior NCP leader, Salman Khan’s security cover has been increased. The murder has shocked political circles and Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang has been linked to the crime, with the police arresting two individuals from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh in connection with the killing. According to reports, the assailants had been living in Mumbai for a few months, conducting recce on Baba Siddiqui’s locations. Initial investigations suggest the killing may have been motivated by Siddiqui’s close association with Salman Khan, among other factors.

While the Maharashtra government is yet to confirm the validity of these claims, they have stated that Salman Khan already has sufficient security cover in place. In response to the heightened threat, Mumbai Police has now deployed an escort vehicle to follow the actor’s official car, with the Special Reserve Police Force (SRPF) stationed outside his Bandra and Panvel residences.

That apart, Salman Khan’s Panvel farmhouse saw an increase in security by Navi Mumbai police yesterday. The actor has been provided with Y-plus security, ensuring that a police escort vehicle travels alongside him, and a trained constable capable of handling all weapons now accompanies him at all times.

Salman Khan has been considered a target by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and also received death threats from them. Earlier this year, some gang members were even apprehended by the police for firing shots outside Khan’s house in Mumbai.

So far, three members have been arrested from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang for the murder of Baba Siddiqui on Saturday night. The third arrest was made in Pune when Praveen Lonkar, brother of gang member Shubham Lonkar, took responsibility for the murder by posting on Facebook.

NCP leader Baba Siddique was shot outside his son MLA Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Bandra East on Saturday night. He was taken to Lilavati Hospital, but doctors declared him dead. Investigations showed that the attackers had been watching the area for 25-30 days before the attack.
