Shraddha Kapoor has finally announced the release date of her much-awaited movie Stree 2. On Friday morning, the actress took to her Instagram handle to announce that the film, which also stars Rajkummar Rao in the lead, will hit theatres on Independence Day this year i.e. on August 15.
“Iss swatantrata diwas, aa rahi hai #Stree fir se! #Stree2 in cinemas this Independence Day, 15th August 2024,” Shraddha wrote. Watch the Stree 2 release date announcement video here:

What Do We Know About Stree?
Stree was released in 2018. It opened to wide critical acclaim and emerged as a commercial success at the box office. The music of the film also drew a lot of attention with Milegi Milegi and Aao Kabhi Haveli Pe becoming raging chartbusters.
Stree 2 is being directed by Amar Kaushik and produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. It is a part of the producer’s horror-comedy universe which includes films like Stree, Roohi, and Bhediya.
Stree 2 Vs Pushpa 2 At The Box Office
Stree 2 will clash at the box office with Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Pushpa 2: The Rule. Earlier this year, the makers of Pushpa 2 also released the teaser of the film on Allu Arjun’s birthday and left fans super excited for the film. In the teaser, the Telugu star was seen dressed in a saree with his face painted in shades of blue and red. He also sported makeup with heavy traditional gold and flower jewellery. He was seen beating up goons. The shooting for Pushpa 2 is currently underway.
Khel Khel Mein Also To Hit Theatres On August 15
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein will also be released in theatres on Independence Day this year. Just a couple of days back, T-Series announced the release date of the film when they posted on X, “This Independence Day, step into a mad world of laughter, drama and loads of fun! Mark your calendars for August 15, 2024 when #KhelKhelMein hits the theatres.” Khel Khel Mein also stars Taapsee Pannu, Ammy Virk, Aditya Seal, Pragya Jaiswal and Fardeen Khan.
