Suriya 44: Karthik Subbaraj Treats Suriya Fans to FIRST Glimpse of Their Film on His Birthday; Watch

Director Karthik Subbaraj surprised Suriya’s fans with the first glimpse of his upcoming film, Suriya 44. The filmmaker shared a short clip featuring Suriya’s look and feel from the film on the occasion of the actor’s birthday. Needless to say, the video has now gone viral.

In the video shared on X, Suriya was seen sported a rugged look. The video opens with the words, ‘Somewhere in the sea…’ The filmmaker then takes us to ‘Royal Estate,’ presumably Suriya’s den in the film. Suriya’s gang members stand at the entrance. “A love, a laughter, a war, awaits for you, the one!” teased Karthik as Suriya entered the screen. With a cigarette in his hand and a gun pointed at the camera, Suriya promises a massy entertainer in the theatres. The video ended with Karthik confirming he will announce the title soon.

Sharing the video, the filmmaker wrote, “Happy Birthday @Suriya_offl Sir From Team #Suriya44 #HappyBirthdaySuriya #HBDTheOneSuriya.” Watch the video below:

Karthik began shooting for Suriya 44 earlier this year. Last month, he shared a BTS video showing the first shot taken on the sets of the film. In the video, Suriya is seen sitting on a ledge with suitcases, facing his back at the camera and looking at the sea. After the clap, the camera zooms in with intriguing music playing in the background, he then turns around and glares before giving an evil sarcastic smile. The actor then asks the camera to come close with an intense look on his face.

The Jai Bhim actor was dressed in a multicoloured striped shirt, a retro long mullet hairstyle and a Fu-Manchu-style moustache. “The First Shot…#Suriya44,” Karthik wrote. Suriya also shared the video and wrote, “Lights! Camera!! Action!!! #suriya44 #lovelaughterwar #akarthiksubbarajpadam Shoot in progress…”

Besides Suriya, the film also stars Pooja Hegde, Jayaram, Karuna Karan and Joju George in the lead roles. The official release date of the film is still awaited.
