Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video Box Office Day 4: Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and starring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri, witnessed a significant drop in box office collections on its fourth day. According to Pinkvilla, the film saw a 55 percent dip, earning around Rs 2.50 crore net on Day 4. This brings its total to Rs 21.30 crore. The film opened with Rs 5.5 crore on Day 1 (Friday), followed by Rs 6.9 crore on Saturday, and Rs 6.4 crore on Sunday, according to Sacnilk.com.
Despite no major competition until Diwali, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video faces challenges in sustaining strong numbers. Expectations for the film were high, especially after the record-breaking success of Stree 2, another Rajkummar Rao-starrer. However, the film has struggled to capitalise on this momentum.
Compared to other Rajkummar Rao recent films like Mr And Mrs Mahi and Srikanth, the box office collections of Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video are relatively comparable, especially considering their similar budgets. Still, the underwhelming performance is attributed to the elevated expectations set by Stree 2.
Interestingly, the movie has maintained its edge over Alia Bhatt starrer Jigra, which released alongside it during Dussehra. For four consecutive days, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video has been the more preferred film in India, a trend that may continue in the coming days. However, internationally, Jigra has outperformed, particularly with Alia Bhatt’s star power driving its success overseas.
Set in 1997, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video revolves around a married couple, Vicky (Rajkummar Rao) and Vidya (Triptii Dimri), who make a private video of their first night together, only to discover the tape has been stolen. As Vicky secretly tries to recover it, Vidya suspects him of infidelity, leading to comedic misunderstandings.
The film has garnered mixed reviews. News18 Showsha rated the film 2/5, citing the weak screenplay and lackluster writing as major issues. The review mentioned, “Rajkummar tries his best to carry the film but is weighed down by the script. Triptii, though promising, lacks the screen presence to leave a lasting impact.”
