When Actress Rakshitha Shot Her First Scene In Debut Movie Appu In The Himalayas
Rakshitha Prem had a dream debut with the film Appu starring Puneeth Rajkumar in the lead role.

Rakshitha is one of the popular actresses who is known for her Kannada films. She started her career with the Kannada film Appu with Puneeth Rajkumar. She is not quite active in the film industry. After marrying to director Prem, the actress gradually started keeping her distance from the films.

She was last seen in the lead role in the film Thayiya Madilu in 2007. It was written and directed by S Narayan. It starred Shiva Rajkumar, Rakshita and Jayasudha in the lead roles. In the recent Dance Karnataka Dance episode, the actress reminisced about her film’s journey. She shared the memorable moments of her first Kannada film with Puneeth Rajkumar.

Rakshitha had a dream debut with the film Appu starring Puneeth Rajkumar in the lead role. It was directed by Puri Jagannadh. Apart from the lead pair, the film starred Avinash and Hemashree in prominent roles. It was released in 2002. Actress Rakshitha shared an interesting fact about the film. She called it one of the most important films of her career.

Director Puri Jagannadh didn’t start production of the film with the shooting of a scene rather he chose a song over it. The actress was told that she had to perform a song in her first scene of the film. It was shot in the backdrop of the Himalayas.

Darshan and Rakshitha’s pair was also admired by the Kannada fans. Kalasipalya, Ayya, Suntaragaali and Mandya are some of the films which involved this lead pair. It is believed that actor Darshan respected Rakshitha as she was the daughter of cinematographer BC Gowrishankar.

Apart from Puneeth Rajkumar and Darshan, the actress formed a successful pair with all the top Kannada heroes of the time including Upendra, Sudeep, Darshan and Aditya. She has also shared the screen with top stars like Chiranjeevi, Nagarjuna Akkineni, Mahesh Babu, Jr NTR, Jagapathi Babu, Vishnuvardhan, V. Ravichandran, Shivarajkumar, Vijay, Ravi Teja, and Silambarasan.

After cutting down her acting assignments, the actress took over film-making. She turned producer for the prestigious Jogayya directed by Prem, starring Shivarajkumar in the lead (100th movie).
