Manoj Bajpayee and Ali Fazal are known for their brilliant performances on screen. They have done films and series which people are in love with. Well, in a light-hearted and candid moment, seasoned actor Manoj Bajpayee playfully grilled Ali Fazal about his Hollywood ventures during a recent interaction. He quizzed Fazal asking, “You have a house in LA?” However, the latter response left him in shock.
During an actor’s roundtable with Zoom recently, Manoj asked Ali, “Is it true that you have already bought a house in LA? Unn paison ka kya kiya jo vahan se mila? Uspe toh GST bhi nahi lagta (What did you do with the money that you earned there? You don’t even have to pay GST on it).” Replying to his senior, Ali said, “No, it is absolutely not true,” while adding about his money, “Sir, offshore mein hai, kahin pal rahe hain vo (Sir, they are in the offshore. They are growing somewhere).”
In the same interview, Manoj asked Ali Fazal, “How do you manage both worlds?” Ali reflected, “I can’t. It is very difficult and I still struggling. Everyone thinks I am an arrogant person who doesn’t want to work. That is not the case. This year, I said, ‘Ok I am all yours.’ (to filmmakers in Hollywood) Here, I said no to brilliant directors to whom I once said, ‘I am excited to work with you.’ But then, a strike happened there. Now everything is pushed to this year.” While noting his struggle to maintain a balance between the two worlds, Ali said late actor Irrfan Khan managed to maintain this balance “very well.”
On the work front, Manoj Bajpayee was last seen in Joram and is currently working on on Bhaiyaa Ji. While Actor Ali Fazal was last seen in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Khufiya, along with Tabu, and in the West, his last big-screen Death on the Nile.
