However, Taran Adarsh also argued that the film might not create wonders at the box office. “#MerryChristmas could’ve done with faster pacing and slight trimming for an enhanced impact… Also, this film depends entirely on a strong word of mouth, so don’t expect fireworks at the #BO on arrival,” he wrote.
Starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi, Merry Christmas also features Sanjay Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Pratima Kannan, Tinnu Anand, Radhika Sarathkumar, Shanmugaraja, Kevin Jay Babu, Rajesh Williams, and Pari. Ashwini Kalsekar and Radhika Apte will also be seen in cameos in the film.
Recently, in an exclusive conversation with News18 Showsha, Katrina opened up about her experience of working with Vijay and Sriram. “I was extremely excited to be working with Sriram sir and Vijay sir. When we came together in a room, we came just as themselves and we instantly were able to connect. The minute Vijay sir started speaking about the scene, it was fascinating for me. I thought, ‘This is a person who views things in such a unique way.’ Sriram sir has a very unique take on everything he does including the way he sees stories and people. We came together to find a rhythm and our own way of working and bringing the script to life,” she said.
Merry Christmas is produced by Ramesh Taurani, Jaya Taurani, Sanjay Routray and Kewal Garg. It will hit theatres on January 12, 2024, in Hindi and Tamil.
