Tovino Thomas Celebrated His 'Acting Idol' Mammootty's Birthday With A Throwback Pic

Muhammad Kutty Panaparambil, popularly known as Mammootty, turned a year older today. The actor has primarily appeared in Malayalam and Tamil films. This star, who was a lawyer before pursuing acting as a career, has worked in the entertainment industry for almost five decades and has appeared in over 400 films. While wishes pour in from fans and industry colleagues, actor Tovino Thomas, who considers Mammootty his inspiration, took to social media to share a special wish for the star. Along with his wish, Tovino also shared a throwback picture with Mammootty from the Anand TV Film Awards earlier.

Tovino Thomas shared a candid picture of himself with Mammootty at the award function. The two were dressed in stunning ethnic fusion attire. While Tovino sported a black patterned suit, the star was seen in a blush pink silk kurta. In the caption, Tovino wrote, “Happy birthday mammukka (Heart emoji).”

Earlier this year, Tovino Thomas was honoured with the Best Actor accolade at the Anand TV Film Awards. Interestingly, this award was presented to him by the legend Mammootty himself. Sharing the special moment on Instagram, Tovino Thomas wrote, “Life is crazy! I had the incredible moment of receiving an award, blessings, and words of wisdom from Mammukka.” The actor was quite emotional at the moment and added, “It was truly overwhelming being there and listening to the idol say pleasant things about me – a buildup in his own style, something I’ll proudly carry forward in life. Tovino Thomas became an established actor in the industry after the recent success of his film in 2018. The film was helmed by Jude Anthany Joseph and is based on the devastating 2018 Kerala floods. Reportedly, the film has created history by becoming the first film to cross Rs 200 crore at the box office. The actor is currently working on Nadikar Thilakam, directed by Lal Junior. The movie also stars Soubin Shahir, Shine Tom Chacko, and Indians, among others, in pivotal roles.
