Attacks on Indians, Threats to PM Modi Show Canada Has Become Playground for Khalistanis and ISI: Sources
According to the local police, some of the businessmen targeted for extortion were contacted through social media platforms and demands for money were made under threat of violence. These businessmen are originally from Punjab in India

At least 10 Indian-origin Canadians and businesses have been targeted by pro-Khalistani groups, with some being extorted via phone calls and voice notes, top intelligence sources told News18. The latest attack was reported against Surrey’s Laxmi Narayan Temple president Satish Kumar who was residence was fired at around 2am.

Indian-owned businesses and residences of Indian-origin businessmen have been targeted in Brampton city of Greater Toronto Area and White Rock city of British Columbia. Andy Dugga New Millennium Tyre owner was attacked in Brampton and some arrests were made as well.

“Canadian law and order is out of control. It’s become a playing field for Khalistani goons and ISI. There are many threats to PM Narendra Modi and Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. These people are unhappy with the successful construction of Ram Mandir and its inauguration is the biggest event since Independence,” an official told News18.

“India is fully protected and these goons can’t do anything here, so they have shifted base to Canada and are troubling Hindus there. They have carried out 7-8 attacks recently and we fear Khalistani goons and ISI have identified individuals for attacks, extortion and threats,” the official added.

News18 had also accessed the video of firing at a Nawab Motors showroom owned by an Indo-Canadian. A group, identifying itself with Vicky Gounder who was killed in an encounter a few years ago, has claimed responsibility for the attack.

According to the local police, some of the businessmen targeted for extortion were contacted through social media platforms and demands for money were made under threat of violence. These businessmen are originally from Punjab in India.

Multiple businesses received similar letters demanding ‘protection money’ to eliminate threat of violence against them. Most of these businesses are car showrooms owned by Punjabi-origin businessmen.

In some of these incidents, bullets were fired into the showrooms but no one was injured since it was evening time and there were very few staff or customers.

“These problems are happening because of the lack of coordination between Indian and Canadian agencies. The Canadians are not taking any threat seriously. All gangsters heading to Canada are getting asylum and safe shelter. These are also supported by Pakistan’s ISI,” a source told News18. These groups are operating from Pakistan as well as Spain, Portugal and European countries which is very alarming, the official added.

Pannun Makes Another Threat

Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, meanwhile, has made another threat against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, instigating Muslims to stop the PM’s Ayodhya roadshow on December 30 and offering a reward of $100,000 for it.

“These are open threats by Pannun to attack the sitting PM of a country. This is not freedom of speech. He is clearly instigating one community to attack Hindus, Army and Indian PM. We have a straight question to all authorities who have given shelter to him — from where is he getting the money?” said an intelligence source. “He is the mouthpiece of ISI and other agencies who don’t want a strong government in India.

In a dangerous escalation of threats against India, Pannun had asked in his recent hate speech whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and NSA Ajit Doval “have 24/7 security blanket”. He had last month released a video threatening passengers of Air India flights on November 19. He had also issued threats to attack India’s Parliament.
