Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked BJP members to reach out to every section of society, including minorities such as Bohras, Pasmandas and Sikhs, without electoral considerations, PTI reported citing party sources.
PM Modi’s remarks during his address at the concluding session of the BJP’s national executive meeting at the NDMC Convention Centre in Delhi today.
Nearly 350 leaders from across the country are in the party’s executive body, ranging from PM Narendra Modi to Union ministers, chief ministers and other senior members from various states.
The BJP national executive approved tenure of Jagat Prakash Nadda as party president till June 2024.
On day 1, the meeting mainly focused on India’s G20 presidency this year, BJP’s focus on upcoming state assembly elections in nine states, and a 9-point resolution targeting the opposition parties.
The resolution was moved by Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju, backed by Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya, and Karnataka’s State Minister Govind Karjol. Instances where opposition parties have run a negative campaign against the prime minister, were highlighted in the resolution.
