The accessory going viral is a pair of swimming gloves. Yes, you read that right! A pair of gloves one can “wear when going for a swim”. Known as ‘swim gloves’, this accessory is launched with the intention to complete the swim look. The SKIMS website mentions the gloves are made with the composition of 76% Recycled Nylon and 24% Spandex and are available in different colours and sizes. Various media reports suggest that the cost is around $48 (INR 3,768) and they were sold out as soon as they were released. People are losing their minds, and they have flooded the micro-blogging site with their reactions.

It is not surprising to know that people are confused because the need to wear gloves while swimming makes no sense. The bewildering aspect of this product is that it was sold in no time, and was off the market as soon as it was launched. This made people question, why would someone buy stuff like that? Looks like SKIMS extended its range of shapewear too far and people are saying that beachwear too has become formal now, with the introduction of swimming gloves.

Kim has an explanation behind the idea though. She said, “The concept of wearing swim in the water or at the beach is a given, but I would constantly think: What am I wearing beyond that while lounging by the pool, boating with kids, doing water sports, or going out to dinner on vacation? My idea has always been to bridge that gap between in and out of the water and create a complete wardrobe of options.”
