REPUBLIC DAY 2024: India celebrates Republic Day to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. An elaborate R-Day parade is held on New Delhi’s Rajpath (now known as Kartavya Path). During this parade, India not only showcases its military prowess but also presents informative tableaus based on different states. This year’s chief guest is Emmanuel Macron, the President of France. The Republic Day celebrations will begin at 9.30 am. Millions of people watch the live telecast of the parade on TV.
The Republic Day parade tickets are priced between Rs 500 (reserved tickets), Rs 200, and Rs 20 based on the seating. The tickets are open for booking from January 10.

- Reserved: Rs 500 (Front Rows)
- Unreserved: Rs 100 (Middle Rows)
- Unreserved: Rs 20 (Back seats with limited views)
Tickets are not required for children below the age of 5 years.
Republic Day 2024 Parade: How To Buy Tickets Online
Step 1: Go to the Ministry of Defence’s official web portal at: www.aamantran.mod.gov.in. Login or create a new account.
Step 2: Fill in the personal details such as name, DOB, mobile number, etc. You will get an OTP on your registered mobile number, and use it to authenticate your account.
Step 3: Choose the option of ‘Republic Day Parade’ from a list of options like FDR (full dress rehearsal), Republic Day Parade, Republic Day Parade, and Beating the Retreat.
Step 4: Provide attendee information by filing identity proof using government-issued identity cards like – PAN card, Aadhaar card, etc.
Step 5: Complete the purchase by making an online payment.
How To Buy Tickets Offline
You can buy offline Republic Day tickets from the Delhi Tourism Development Corporation (DTDC) counters, India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) Travel counters, and Departmental Sale counters within Delhi. Furthermore, you can also buy tickets from booths at Sena Bhawan, Pragati Maidan, Jantar Mantar, Shastri Bhawan, the Parliament House Reception Office, and the Government of India Tourist Office at Janpath.
Keep in mind that the Government of India Tourist Office is closed on Sundays and Parliament House Reception Office is closed on weekends and holidays.
To buy the tickets you will be asked to fill out a form with your details. You will also be asked to furnish an identity card and give a photocopy of the identity card, so make sure to carry them with you.
Where to watch the parade online and on TV
The Republic Day parade is broadcast live on Doordarshan channel. You can also stream it online on the Doordarshan Official YouTube Channel or the Press Information Bureau (PIB) website.
