Auraiya (UP): Hitting out at PM Narendra Modi's acronym -- SCAM -- that he attributed to all his political rivals in Uttar Pradesh, chief minister Akhilesh Yadav trained his gun on PM saying, "We have to save the country from SCAM. We have to save the country from people whose names start with A and M," referring to Amit Shah and Narendra Modi.
CM Akhilesh, in a rally at UP's Auraiya, sought retribution and said that PM Modi had to "politically migrate" to fulfil his prime ministerial ambitions. "Perhaps, he couldn't have become the Prime Minister from Gujarat," Akhilesh said.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi, while addressing a rally in UP's Meerut, launched a scathing attack on SP-Congress combine and Mayawati, collectively calling them a SCAM.
Taking aim at all rival parties, Modi had said: “This election is BJP's fight against 'SCAM'; 'S' for Samajwadi, 'C' for Congress, 'A' for Akhilesh and 'M' for Mayawati.”
Targeting the SP-Congress alliance, Modi had said that till a few months back the Congress was taking out rallies across Uttar Pradesh and accusing the ruling SP of corruption and neglecting farmers, but the two have now "embraced each other".
