Lucknow: UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has suspended the district magistrates Gonda and Fatehpur over charges of corruption and illegal mining.
Along with Jitendra Bahadur Singh (DM Gonda) and Kumar Prashant (DM Fatehpur), Director of Mining Balkar Singh was also transferred to Divyangjan Department on Wednesday night. Singh’s name had also cropped up in reports aboul illegal mining.
Several BJP MLAs and ministers have been complaining about these officials for quite sometime. Key BJP ally in UP and minister Om Prakash Rajbhar had said that the officials do not listen to public greivances. He also blamed the Yogi government for not taking action against them.
Theissue was highlighted on Tuesday when BJP MLA from Balia, Surendra Singh, compared the officials officers to prostitutes. He had alleged that prostitutes take money and do their job, but officers are worse than them as they take money and still do not guarantee work.
