New Delhi: Rattled by the heightened activity of the BJP and the AAP in Amethi, the Congress has asked the Election Commission (EC) to deploy additional force including paramilitary force in the constituency of party Vice-President Rahul Gandhi. It has also requested the EC to depute sufficient number of observers at all the places, in addition to the other preventive measures that may be taken by the Honourable Commission to maintain law and order. It is also requested that CCTV cameras may be installed at all the polling booths for conduct of smooth and fair election in the constituency.

Amethi is voting on Wednesday, May 7.

A letter signed by the Congress legal department secretary K C Mittal, says "One booklet contains the photographs of BABA RAMDEV, SADHAVI PRAGYA, BAPU ASARAM, ASEEMA NANDA, NITYA NANDA and others. The language alongwith the photographs unequivocally establishes that these have been printed, distributed and circulated during election period to spread religious and communal hatred seeking vote and some of them are openly working and canvassing for BJP candidates prominently including Sh. Narendra Modi.

The name of the printer is SANSKRITI RAKSAK SANGH as mentioned on the booklets. It also contains the office address as Shastri Nagar at Delhi alongwith the contact details but these details have been learnt to be fake and the whereabouts of the publisher and printer are not known.

They have also printed fake, malicious, obscene and objectionable booklets and material against Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Hon'ble Congress President and Sh. Rahul Gandhi, Hon'ble Congress Vice president and have widely circulated in different parts of the country prominently at public places including public transport.

It has now been come to our notice that a large number of such material has recently been brought, dumped and circulated in Amethi Parliamentary Constituency but so far the authorities have not taken any action. The persons, purpose, organisations and the nexus is identifiable as it is the handy work of Sangh Parivar, deliberately and mischievously done at a time when the polling in Amethi is scheduled to take place on 7th May 2014".
