Congress holds review meet after Lok Sabha and Assembly poll debacle

New Delhi: After the rout in the Lok Sabha and the recent Assembly elections, Congress held a review meeting on Tuesday.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi attended the meeting of Congress General Secretaries and State Presidents.

Congress suffered its worst ever defeat in the Lok Sabha polls and in the Assembly polls also the party lost power in both Maharashtra and Haryana. Congress which had ruled both Haryana and Maharashtra lost the elections in both the states. Rahul Gandhi issued a statement congratulating the BJP for its success.

While Congress won just over 40 seats in Maharashtra, it has been reduced to just 15 constituencies in Haryana.
