Madurai: Speaking to his supporters in Madurai, DMK Chief's estranged son and expelled leader MK Alagiri said they should work hard to ensure the DMK alliance comes fourth in all constituencies in Tamil Nadu. Alagiri was expelled by the party earlier this week for criticizing top leaders in the party.
As DMK's former south zone organising secretary, Alagiri is being wooed by both the Congress and the BJP in the state, with candidates from both parties seeking his support.
On DMK extending an olive branch to Congress by offering to "forgive" and support it after the polls, Alagiri said he had never spoken about alliance with Congress or any other party rather it was someone in the DMK who was talking for and
against the alliance with the Congress.
There have been speculations that the former Union Minister would float his own party. In the 2001 Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, Alagiri, who had been suspended by the party, openly fielded rebel candidates against the DMK.
