Gobble's theory is PDP's mindset in J&K: Omar
Omar said PDP circulated false rumours and published concocted stories regarding the rotational chief ministership.

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah tonight said Opposition PDP has made "Gobble's theory of telling hundred lies in one voice" its mindset to deceive people and accused the party of trying to "poison" relations between NC and Congress.

"This party (PDP) has made Gobble's theory of telling hundred lies in one voice its mindset to deceive people so that they believe in fake tales," Omar said, while winding up discussions on the issue of corruption in the Legislative Assembly.

Omar said PDP circulated false rumours and published concocted stories regarding the rotational chief ministership for quite some time to create a wedge between NC and Congress for "vested interest of power game".

"The party indulged in this machination to create a situation conducive for grabbing power which is its ultimate goal in politics," he said.

He said the only aim of PDP was to disrupt the Assembly proceedings for two consecutive days and demanding discussion on corruption was only to "poison" relations between Congress and NC.

PDP on Saturday targeted Omar for "double standards" in punishments, which were only awarded to Congress Ministers while NC ministers have not been "touched" at all despite notices from the highest anti-graft panel-- State Accountability Commission (SAC) against them.

The chief minister said he had asked the Vigilance Organisation to look into media reports of graft allegations against his government's ministers and the investigation conducted by it has found all accusations against them "unfounded and baseless".

Omar said Congress has a culture of asking for resignation from any of its ministers against whom CBI enquiry is initiated.

He said initiating of investigation by CBI or Crime Branch is only aimed at unearthing the truth so that nobody points fingers towards any minister.

"My government has constituted State Information Commission (SIC) and given teeth to State Accountability Commission (SAC). I am happy with the functioning of both," he said, adding that these institutions would prove fruitful to bring in transparency and curb institutional corruption.
