The Gujarat High Court on Wednesday stayed a state election commission decision to postpone local body elections by three months.
The election commission had said that the law and order situation was not conducive to hold the polls in the state. The decision had come in the backdrop of the Patidar agitation.
Reacting to the decision, the election commission has said that they will challenge the High Court order in Supreme Court.
The state election commission also sought a stay on the order till they challenge it in the Supreme Court, but that was also turned down.
