A BSP candidate claimed that he caught the SDM tampering with 11 EVMs by pressing buttons marked Akali Dal.
New Delhi: Elections began on a controversial note in Mansa district in Punjab on Monday. A BSP candidate claimed on Sunday that he caught the Sub Divisional Magistrate tampering with 11 Electronic Voting Machines by pressing buttons marked Akali Dal.
The SDM however defended himself saying that he had merely been testing the machine. The BSP leader has filed a complaint. The Election Commission is looking into it.
The EC will take action against the SDM if found guilty.
