Overwhelmed by the slogan shouting of party workers demanding that he be named as the prime ministerial candidate at the All India Congress Committee meet, party Vice President Rahul Gandhi promised to answer all their queries later in the day.
With the rising clamour at the meeting, Rahul stepped in and announced that he knew what the party workers were waiting to hear. "Please wait for 2-3 more hours, I will talk about it in my speech that is slated for 3.30PM."
He appealed the AICC attendants to maintain calm and allow the meeting to proceed smoothly soon after his mother and Congress President Sonia Gandhi ended her speech.
The much awaited AICC meeting saw a fiery Sonia Gandhi addressing her party cadres and trying to infuse the much needed vigour in them for the Lok Sabha elections.
Sonia Gandhi also clarified that Rahul Gandhi will not be the party's PM candidate. To this, the crowd roared expressing their displeasure to the decision.
Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is also present at the meet and would reportedly speak after the lunch session. Rahul is slated to follow him with his address at around 3:30 PM.
