Former Rajya Sabha MP Navjot Singh Sidhu will break his silence on his resignation from the Upper House of Parliament. He had been nominated to the Rajya Sabha by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in April 2016.
There is a speculation of Sidhu joining the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Senior AAP leaders say preliminary discussion has already taken place between Delhi Chief Minister and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal and Sidhu.
The cricketer-turned-politician's entry into AAP is likely to be in a phased manner.
At the media interaction, Sidhu will launch a no-holds barred attack on Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his deputy Sukhbir.
He will also blame the BJP for his moving out of the Rajya Sabha.
Leaders close to Sidhu say he believes the BJP and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) are both working to ensure he is out of Punjab before the Assembly elections scheduled in the state for early 2017.
