Faizabad: A group of Samajwadi Party members has accused

the party leadership of indulging in "opportunism and corruption" after the

party choose sitting MP Mitrasen Yadav as its candidate in the coming Lok Sabha polls.

SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav had announced the candidature of Yadav, who was elected to the Lok Sabha on a BSP ticket, from the Faizabad parliamentary constituency.

The rebel camp, led by party's district president and former MLA Ramchandar Yadav, termed the selection of Yadav as a "greatest example of opportunism and corruption".

"By choosing Mitrasen as parliamentary candidate the SP leaders have proved that they are involved in political corruption and opportunism," alleged the former MLA Mitrasen has been involved in a number of criminal cases including, murder and other crimes, alleged Ram Chanda Yadav.

"How the voters are going to trust such a person who always has changing his ideologies and political parties in every election," he said added Ram Chandar.

Party's Dalit Cell president Ganga Deen Rawat, raising the issue of Dalit student Shashi's murder, in which Mitrasen's MLA son Anand Sen in an accused, said that giving ticket to him is like cheating the members of Dalit community.
