New Delhi: As it goes all out in its bid to win the vote in Delhi, AAP's campaign for the upcoming Assembly polls is being supported by volunteers who are pouring in from across the country as part of an innovative drive called 'AAP Buzz'.

With not even a fortnight left for the February 7 electoral face-off in the national capital, students and youths from all over the country have started trooping into the city over the last few days to bolster its efforts in seeking votes in the national capital.

The party claims that more than 4,000 volunteers from across the country have signed up for the drive. Launched a few months back but gathering steam now, the 'AAP Buzz' drive sees volunteers distributing the party's signature caps, pamphlets and posters among the public in crowded market areas and around the busier metro stations.

"We have been doing this for more than a month now. Previously, it used to be only on weekends but, with a few days left for the elections, we have increased its frequency," said Kamal Kishore Pandey, a software engineer who took a day off to campaign for the party at Sarojini Nagar market.

"In my team, I have a lot of people from Maharashtra, Bihar, West Bengal and several other states who just came here for their love of the party," he added. Akash Singh, another volunteer, who came all the way from Allahabad, said the campaign was a way to make people aware of their basic rights.

"I am not seeing this as a campaign but as a way to make people aware of their basic rights. People should know about their right to vote. They should take part in the festival of democracy," said the law student as he campaigned for AAP in Lajpat Nagar on Sunday.

AAP on Sunday organised 'Buzz' campaigns at 10 important locations, including at the Rajeev Chowk, Karol Bagh and Kashmere Gate Metro stations. The party plans to spread the drive to at least 80 locations before Delhi polls.

Even during the Lok Sabha elections last year, AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal's fight in Varanasi against Narendra Modi was mainly volunteer-driven.
