New Delhi: A day after almost the entire Congress leadership came out in defence of party president Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra, Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram also joined the wagon saying "the individual has disclosed all the transactions".
"Such transactions between two private individuals cannot be questioned, all of them have been disclosed," said the senior Congress leader.
On Friday, anti-corruption crusader-turned-politician Arvind Kejriwal had attacked Robert Vadra, the husband of Priyanka Gandhi, accusing him of financial impropriety. He had alleged that construction major DLF had given Vadra unsecured loan and the money was used to buy properties owned by DLF itself.
Kejriwal had questioned how Vadra's properties worth Rs 50 lakh had gone up to Rs 300 crore.
Meanwhile, the Finance Minister on Saturday further justified the recent second wave of reforms by the UPA government saying the insurance sector was in the need of huge amount of capital.
Chidambaram asserted that the government needed to address the fundamental constraints in the economy, adding that "government steps have brought down headline inflation".
Pointing that the economic situation was very challenging, the Union Finance Minister said that the UPA government was committed to investment.
